Trust & safety

Vetted both ways. That's the difference.

Shotgun isn’t a rideshare where anyone gets in anyone’s car. Every rider is vetted, every car is inspected and curated, every ride is insured, and the owner always drives. So both sides feel safe, the way sharing a car you love should.

Every shotgunner is vetted

The part a normal rideshare skips. Uber checks its drivers, but nobody checks the passenger. We vet the person getting in, so a host knows exactly who's in their car. That's the difference when it's someone's pride and joy, not a Camry.

Every car is inspected & curated

Each car passes a safety inspection and clears our enthusiast bar. Not just roadworthy, worth the seat. Pristine, original, or built on purpose; neglected doesn't make the cut.

Every ride is fully insured

Shotgun operates as a licensed rideshare, so every trip carries commercial coverage, the car, the owner, and the rider. The insurance and legal stack is locked down before the first seat opens.

The owner always drives

You never hand over your keys. Hosts keep the wheel, pick the drives, and choose who rides. You stay in control of your car, every single time.

Why it matters

A car you’d cross a parking lot for isn’t a commodity, and the seat beside it shouldn’t be handed to just anyone. Vetting the rider is what lets an owner say yes to sharing the car they’d never sell, and it’s what makes every ride feel like it was meant for you. That’s the premium: not luxury for its own sake, but trust on both sides of the seat.

Trust & safety FAQs

Is riding with Shotgun safe?+

It's built to be. Every ride is owner-driven and fully insured, every car is inspected and curated, and the owner knows both the car and the road. You're riding beside someone who does this because they love it, not a stranger passing through.

How do you protect my car as a host?+

Every shotgunner is vetted before they're in your car, the thing a normal rideshare never does. You always drive, you approve the ride, you choose the drives, and every trip is fully insured. Your car, your rules.

Do you vet riders, or just drivers?+

Both. Uber and Lyft vet drivers but leave passengers unchecked. We vet the shotgunner too, so trust runs both ways, the host knows who's riding, and the rider knows the car and owner are the real thing.

Are the cars really inspected?+

Yes. Every car passes a safety inspection before it goes live, on top of our curation bar for quality. Licensed, inspected, and worth the seat.

Share the car. Keep the control.

Vetted riders, every ride insured, and you never leave the driver’s seat. That’s how we earn a host’s trust.
